Tracing Paper

Tracing paper (also known as sulphuric acid paper or translucent paper) is a semi-transparent paper that is widely used in drawing, printing, packaging and other fields.

Tracing paper is made from fine plant fibres, through the free pulping in a humid state, the paper copying process without glue or filler, and then through a short soaking in 72% concentrated sulphuric acid, washing in water and glycerine treatment, finally forming a hard and excellent texture film. It has a white and delicate texture, excellent resistance to high temperature and sunlight, high strength, impermeable, not easy to deform, outstanding aging resistance, and at the same time, it has the three functions of waterproof, moisture-proof and oil-proof.

The grammage of translucent paper is usually between 50g/m² and 200g/m², depending on the application:
Low grammage (50g/m² - 75g/m²): thin, highly transparent, suitable for tracing, photocopying, handicrafts, etc.
Medium weight (80g/m² - 120g/m²): medium thickness, suitable for printing, packaging, certificate liner, etc.
High grammage (150g/m² - 200g/m²): thicker, high strength, suitable for high-grade packaging, booklet liner, etc.

Suggestions for selection
Drawing or tracing: choose low grammage (50g/m² - 75g/m²) tracing paper with high transparency and easy handling.

High-grade packaging or certificate liner: choose high grammage (150g/m² - 200g/m²) tracing paper with good texture and high strength.
