The main raw material of offset paper is wood pulp, including coniferous wood pulp and broadleaf wood pulp. Coniferous pulp fibers are long and strong, giving the paper good toughness and tensile strength. Broadleaf pulp fibers are short and wide, helping to improve the smoothness and printability of paper. Besides wood pulp, other materials like fillers, glue, dyes, and some auxiliary substances are added. Fillers, such as calcium carbonate and talc, can make paper more opaque and whiter. We use gum, like rosin glue and synthetic glue, to make paper more water-resistant and stronger on the surface. Dyes are used to change the paper's color. This helps us get the right whiteness or the color shade we want.
Offset paper is suitable for printing books, notebooks, letterheads, and other documents. It writes smoothly and is not prone to ink penetration.
Characteristics of Offset Paper
1. After undergoing fine processing, offset paper has an extremely high surface flatness. This flat surface serves as an excellent base for printing and writing. As a result, text and images can be shown clearly and in their entirety.
2. Its high whiteness, reaching 80% - 90%, enables prints with bright colours and high contrast. It gives people a fresh and comfortable visual experience.
3. Offset paper has a certain degree of water resistance after the sizing process, in the event of a small amount of moisture, it is not easy to blot ink, deformation, and other problems, to ensure the stability and durability of the paper.
4. Offset paper has good flexibility and folding resistance, is not easy to break or rupture, easy to turn and save.
Offset Paper GSM
There are between 50g/m2 and 120g/m2. The higher the weight, the thicker the paper, and the better the strength and durability.
Offset paper weighing 50 g/m2 - 70 g/m2 is generally used for book texts, magazine inserts, and other printed materials.
80 g/m2 - 100 g/m2 are suitable for multi-color magazine inserts, brochures, and some covers.
Paper weighing 100 to 120 grams per square meter is often used for book hardcovers, hardcover album covers, box covers, and other similar things.
